Since the resumption of small-scale privatization, the state budget has received more than 4 billion hryvnias
The state budget has received over 4 billion hryvnias from the sale of state property since the resumption of small-scale privatization in September 2022.
During the past year, the SPFU team found new owners for 439 unprofitable state assets. On average, nearly 5 entrepreneurs competed for each asset. In total, over 2,000 Ukrainian businessmen participated in the privatization process.
In addition to the winning bids, the new owners must also pay off debts totaling UAH 960 million to employees and the government. Furthermore, they must pay UAH 680 million in VAT (20% of the winning bids at the auctions).
Among the largest assets sold by the SPFU:
- Hermitage Hotel in Kyiv - UAH 311 million
- SE Ukroboronresursy in Kyiv - UAH 210 million
- SE Rivnetorf - UAH 205 million
- Ust-Dunaysk Seaport - UAH 201 million
- JSC Lviv Jewelry Plant - UAH 185 million
The plans for small-scale privatization involve finding new owners for dozens of state-owned assets. For instance, the SPFU scheduled an auction on October 2 for the sale of Zarubynsk Distillery (starting price of UAH 245.4 million), Volyntorf (UAH 190.2 million, October 6), Nihynskyi Quarry (UAH 26.5 million, October 5), etc.
"The decision to resume small-scale privatization was fully justified as we successfully raised UAH 4 billion to support the Defense Forces and foster business development. Currently, we are presented with a greater challenge - the sale of large-scale privatization assets and sanctioned property. This initiative will enable us to attract international investment and generate more revenue for the budget," stated Oleksandr Fedoryshyn, acting Chairman of the SPFU.
