Chairman of the SPFU had a working meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Agricultural, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan
During a business trip with the Government Delegation led by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to Tokyo, Vitaliy Koval held a working meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan
During the meeting, the Chairman of the State Property Fund talked about the key directions of the organization’s work and ambitious plans for 2024.In particular, Mr. Koval focused on the Land Bank project and its importance, as the Fund currently owns 386,000 hectares of agricultural land, which should work for the Ukrainian economy and create opportunities for private business.Opportunities for Japanese investors in the Ukrainian agricultural sector were also discussed.
In addition, the use of powerful machinery in our agriculture was discussed.Japan can help Ukraine in this, since it has world known companies in the production of machinery.Vitaliy Koval emphasized that among the companies under the management of the SPFU there are those that can become good partners for Japanese companies, in particular, Ukragroleasing JSC. This company can help with machinery leasing.
Besides, the Chairman of the SPFU drew the attention of Ministry’s representatives to another area where Ukraine needs help – training of veterans. Vitaliy Koval noted, ‘We are talking about the management and maintenance of agricultural machinery. A large number of military personnel are returning from the front, and we must retrain them for other specialties in a short time.It is important to quickly adapt our military to civilian life, and the Fund has the capabilities for this.Training can be carried out in the training and course facilities of the SPFU, which will become training centers for operators and service engineers for Japanese agricultural machinery’.
In turn, the Japanese colleagues expressed their readiness to support Ukrainian initiatives and continue joint work in new projects.
