Dmytro Sennychenko: The state will strictly react to attempts to discourage investment in Ukraine
The State Property Fund of Ukraine, together with law enforcement agencies, has stopped attempting to establish control over a strategic state-owned enterprise, JSC «United Mining and Chemical Company».
On April 17, the former management of a state-owned companyJSC «United Mining and Chemical Company» tried to gain control of a strategic object of the state illegally. The management dismissed in March, led by Oleksandr Gladushko, entered the company office illegally, referring the illegal decision of the Kyiv City Economic Court in case №910/4940/20, and began simulating the performance of his duties.
National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraineis already investigating cases against the previous management of damages worth about $ 13 million. Previously, there was also detained former Acting Chairman of the Board JSC «United Mining and Chemical Company», Head of Sales and Marketing Division of the PJSC «UMCC»and former Deputy Director of «UMCC».The indictment against two persons directedtothe courtand seized property, accused costs and cash held in bank accounts of the intermediary and other related companies.
The State Property Fund of Ukraine has sent statements regarding unlawful actions against the JSC «United Mining and Chemical Company»tothe Security Service of Ukraine, a complaint ondisciplinary misconduct of Judge Zelenina N.I.to the High Council of Justice of Ukraine, a statement on a criminal offense to the State Bureau of Investigation, and an appeal concerning an attempt to raid the JSC «UMCC»tothe Anti-Raiding Officeof the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
As a result of today's events, the State Property Fund of Ukraine, together with law enforcement agencies, ensured that state control of the enterprise was maintained. The Temporary Acting Chairman,theFirst Deputy Chairman of the Board Peter Davis andtheDeputy Chairman of theFund Sergiy Ignatovsky were main actorstoday's events.
«The State Property Fund of Ukraine will appeal against the order of the Commercial Court of Kyiv in accordance with the established procedure, as it is absolutely illegal and contrary to the current court practice. We hope that in the near future, law enforcement agencies will give an adequate assessment of this situation, as well as the actions of the judge and the former management of the company, which is trying to illegally manage it» - said the Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine Dmytro Sennychenko.
The Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine emphasized: «One of the fundamental principles of the State Property Fund's activityis the steady preparation companiesto privatizationand the provision of investment in Ukraine. JSC «UMCC»is an important enterprise with the special control. The Fund will not allow the management to return to governance, which has proven its inability to perform official duties and protect the interests of the state in their performance. Damage to the state and Ukrainians in the amount of $ 12.87 million is a clear proof. The actions of the dismissed management at the enterprise are attemptsto illegally seize control of a government asset to restore corrupt schemes eliminated by the Fund and gain personal benefit from them».
