Committee on Economic Development has supported the draft law on unblocking large-scale privatization

On February 3, 2021, the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on Economic Development supported the government draft law N 4543 on unblocking large-scale privatization.

The above-mentioned draft law bans on conducting auctions on large-scale privatization that was established in 2020 year with regard to coronavirus pandemic.

However, the pandemic influenced on potential investors’ interest in privatization assets – in 2020 year the Fund just at the cost of small-scale privatization exceeded the income annual plan yet in June and, according the year’s results, conducted successful privatization auctions in amount of UAH 3 billion.

Therefore, the State Property Fund of Ukraine is waiting for adopting of the draft law  N 4543 “On Amendments to Section V “Final and Transitional Provisions” of the Law of Ukraine “On Privatization of the State and Communal Property” by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, that will removes the legislative ban on conduct of privatization auctions and open opportunities to attract sustainable investments via privatization.
