Taras Yeleyko during the Business & Legal Real Estate Forum: the State Property Fund of Ukraine attracts investments and restores trust in privatization
On October 21, 2020, the Deputy Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine Taras Yeleyko has participated in the III Business & Legal Real Estate Forum, during which he reported on the Fund’s extensive transformation and systematic privatization processes changes.
During his speech, The Deputy Head of the Fund Taras Yeleyko informed that now there are about 3600 state enterprises in the public administration which are under control of 96 governance bodies.
According to Taras Yeleyko, analytical data indicate that the State needs about 700 of these state enterprises to perform the government functions. Also there are approximately 600 state enterprises on the uncontrolled territories. About 1000 enterprises need to be just dismantled and there are about 1000 enterprises that could be privatized.
“Privatization is not just about selling. Privatization is a seeking of an effective investor for non-core state assets, who will invest in modernization, production and new job creation”, - Taras Yeleyko stated.
He pointed out that the State Property Fund of Ukraine changed significantly the privatization process, resulting in providing potential investors with detailed information on every object and all its documentation via the website: www.privatization.gov.ua and VDR, that increases the number of investors on e-auctions and therefore income to the budget.
So, as a result of provided changes, this year income to the budget from the small privatization is about UAH 2 billion and the increasing up to UAH 3 billion is expected by the end of the year.
“Amount of revenue is an important indicator but the number of e-auctions participants is not the less important one. So, if in 2019 the indicator was at 2.1, then in 2020 it has increased up to 3.4. All this points to restoring trust in privatization process and the State in total”, - the Deputy Head noted.
