The Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine Vitaliy Koval appeared on the "Kyiv" TV channel
The Chairman of the Fund discussed the assets that the Fund has put up for privatization and outlined plans in this direction. The state has already received an economic effect from the sale of distilleries amounting to about UAH 4 billion, including UAH 3 billion from the privatization of 54 distilling plants.Debts of UAH 364 million for salaries and to the budget have been paid, as well as overUAH600 million in value-added tax (VAT).
Vitaliy Koval noted: "We understand that every hryvnia received from the privatization of state property helps attract 4 hryvnias of private investment."
He also discussed the potential for bioethanol production based on privatized assets in this industry.
"I am sure that a new bioethanol industry will be developed based on distilleries, which will bring export revenue, additional jobs, and revive the regions where these enterprises are located," the Chairman of the Fund remarked.
Additionally, during the broadcast, issues related to the privatization of the "Ukraine" and "Kozatsky" hotels located in the center of Kyiv, as well as the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi seaport, were raised. The Fund plans to announce an auction for the privatization of the port in the near future.
