Privatization presents opportunities for small businesses. Most SPFU auctions close at prices up to UAH 1 million, according to Vitaliy Koval

Since September 2023, the State Property Fund of Ukraine has held over 500 online auctions in the Prozorro.Sale system after a small privatization was unblocked. In total, 848 potential buyers participated in auctions with a winning bid of up to UAH 1 million.

As of November 27, 2023, nearly 70% (354) of auctions had winning bids up to UAH 1 million. On average, starting prices increased 2.3 times.

Vitaliy Koval, Chairman of the State Property Fund, has emphasized that the proposed privatization goes beyond the sale of large factories or plants. The majority of the properties for sale are small commercial spaces including administrative offices, warehouses, and unfinished facilities. These properties present an opportunity for individuals to launch their own small businesses or grow their existing ones to medium-sized companies.

During the next year, we plan to conduct over 300 auctions as part of a small privatization effort, with a projected minimum revenue of UAH 1 billion in 2024.
